- Largest single order since launch of Demag DC-Bas chain hoist in China
Demag Cranes has received a major order from China. The appointed dealer Shanghai WZS Cranes Co., Ltd. concluded a purchase contract with the Chinese subsidiary for a total of 1,070 chain hoists of various sizes, designed for load capacities of 125 to 2,000 kilograms. For Demag Cranes this is the largest single order since the market launch of the new DC-Bas chain hoist, which is tailored to the needs of customers in China and India and was presented in China in the middle of last year.
The contract was signed by Jinbo Song, General Manager of WZS: “Demag Cranes impressed with a large and attractive product portfolio and was able to supply the entire range of chain hoists required by us from a single source. This includes the premium products in addition to the DC-Bas, tailored precisely to meet the special requirements of the Chinese market“, commented Song on the award of the contract.
Dr. Lars Brzoska, Executive Vice President of Industrial Cranes and Member of the Executive Committee of Demag Cranes AG points out: “This major order from our Chinese partner confirms our strategy of offering customer-specific solutions for cranes and components in various price/performance segments in the emerging markets.”
Specific solutions for customers in China and India
The strategy of Demag Cranes aims to offer customers in China – and India, too – integrated and tailor-made crane and hoist application solutions in all industries and segments. To this end, in addition to the existing premium product portfolio, the company has developed the Bas product family for the mid-price segment. After introduction of the DC-Bas chain hoist, in December 2011 Demag Cranes also presented the new DR-Bas rope hoist in both countries. Local customers are now offered a further hoist from the Bas product family in the mid-price segment. The Bas range is provisionally rounded off by cranes, crane sets and Bas drive technology. “All products of the Bas family have been developed by our international team of engineers and represent a perfect mix of local expertise and European technology”, Dr. Lars Brzoska continues.
Chinese engine manufacturers rely on Demag hoist applications
The order placed by Shanghai WZS Cranes Co., Ltd comprises 200 DC-Bas chain hoist sets in addition to 275 of the tried-and-tested DC-Pro premium chain hoists and 595 DC-Com in the load capacity range between 125 and 2,000 kilograms. Delivery will take place within the next few months. A major part of the order is intended for Chinese manufacturers of engines and drive systems. In this area, WZS was recently able to win some major orders. The remaining chain hoists will be stockpiled to reduce future waiting times.
DC-Bas chain hoist: impressive technology at attractive prices
The Demag DC-Bas chain hoist meets high standards of quality and performance. It incorporates the philosophy of combining European technology with local expertise.
The DC-Bas offers excellent value for money and in addition to high cost effectiveness, excels through efficiency and reliability. The DC-Bas is also extraordinarily user-friendly and easy to maintain. The chain hoist can be quickly put into service by simply attaching a suspension bracket. Customers have the choice between four sizes with load capacities between 125 and 2,000 kg. Depending on requirements, it will be delivered as a stationary or travelling design. In combination with the LC-Bas light crane system already launched on the market, the chain hoist offers various solutions for equipping workplaces and for in-house load transport.
